I mainly purchased for the large silicone cup to make breakfast egg sandwiches. I tried the 4 little silicone cups as well. They are not really all that non-stick. I found better to crack 2 to 4 eggs in the dash and cook for about 5-8 min. I butter surface sometimes for flavor and add chopped jalapeno, onions, cheese to the eggs. Depending how many eggs I use I sometimes flip the egg patty to cook other side since top cover doesn't touch food enough while cooking. Once done it's a nice square egg 'omelette' that fits perfect on bread. Then I finish the egg sandwich in the Dash for several minutes so that the bread is evenly toasted. This is also for grilled cheese, ham sandwich with cheese etc...I wish the Dash had removable plates to clean better and deeper well for thicker items to cook.I did purchase the newest Bruno single sandwich maker. This one had removable plates, didn't toast bread as evenly and pricey but had a deeper well to cook thicker items and sandwiches. I use both depending on what I am cooking.I can easily make these items on the stove in my cast iron pan but I would have to monitor and when I feel 'lazy' I use the Dash and it's easier to clean. With the Dash it cycles on and off when cooking and I never had problem with burning or overheating...so never had to stand there to constantly to check on it. I just unplug to turn it off.I like that this Dash is 420 watts so that it works with my Jackery for road trips...very portable than my DeLonghi panni grill maker.I love this little egg cooker! I live alone and making these little egg cups is perfect for me. Pour a bit of scrambled egg blended with cottage cheese into the cups along with diced veggies like onion, tomato, and peppers, and you have a perfect meal. It fits well into Keto diets or any high-protein menu. I would suggest spraying both top and bottom grills with a vegetable spray as my first egg cups stuck to the top grill. After spraying it, the cups came out perfectly. I expect to get plenty of use from the unit.My friend and I love egg bites. I also love omelettes. I gifted this to my friend and decided to buy one for myself. I have not been disappointed. This device makes perfect egg bites/mini-omelettes. It is small, easy to use, and cleanup is easy. My appetite is low right now due to medications and illness, but now I look forward to making (and eating) my mini-omelettes.It works, you’ll get bite size egg omelettes but they’re not egg bites like Starbucks.I already own dash deluxe egg steamer but its way to big for travel but only has one use also own their waffle stick maker which are working out fine. I like the cooking area is bigger than their grill or griddle giving more options other than just eggs. Today used it for cooking Walmart Angus burgers ones sold in meat section that are pretty good thickness possible quater pound each. It took the cooker around fifteen minutes to fully cook the burgers over 170 degrees with no shrieking nice and juice. They weren't browned like in frying pan but no burn markes I'm guessing they kind of steamed pleanty of grease left behind. I think this will be a keeper but would have been good if all the cups fit inside for storage would have made this perfect convenient traveling appliance.Update: works out fine cooking eggs without included cups right inside the cooker. Has deep enough well to hold 2 eggs, only takes around 4 minutes and they come out nice and fluffy. I like itI returned it and bought the bigger one. This one is really just for one person. Takes about 10 minutes to cook 4 luttle cups (1 egg with fixings) So for 2 people .. not practical.I bought the bigger one.4 stars- like product- not size (its marketed for 1 or 2 people)I LOVE this egg-bite maker and it makes a great gift for anyone starting a Keto diet. But I learned, the first time I used it, that you CANNOT use distilled water for the water they tell you to pour into the cooker. It seemed logical to use distilled water, to keep the cooker from getting a mineral crust over time, since we have hard water. But distilled water takes a significantly higher temperature to create steam. The instruction booklet says the eggs are ready when the water has vaporized away, but I kept opening the unit--after the expected 10-12-minute cooking time--and there was the same amount of water in the unit that I started with, even after 17 minutes. The eggs were clearly cooked, so I took them out. This does not detract from the five stars, because it's just science, not a defect in the unit. But I hope that the next time Dash updates its instruction booklet, they will add this fact! Surely I am not the only customer who has other appliances--aroma diffusers and humidifiers--that do better with distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. But for the egg bite maker, use regular tap or bottled water -- not distilled! The egg bites come out delicious and great for Keto. I used chopped green onion, sharp, grated cheddar, and a pinch of Aleppo pepper for mine. Make them in the morning and take them to work for lunch or snacks. Two more pieces of advice -- again, these do not detract from my five-star opinion of the results, but are good to know: The instruction booklet says the one large tray holds "two large eggs," and the same is true when divided among the 4 small trays. But that means without any additional ingredients piled in! So if you crack two eggs, but then add grated cheese, onions, bacon, parsley, or anything else, you are going to have more filling that is needed to fill the cups 2-thirds full, which is what they tell you to do. (If you fill all the way to the brim, the eggs expand during cooking and might overflow their little trays.) I don't want to have any filling left over, because I don't have time before work for a second round of cooking. I only have time for "one and done!" And beaten eggs don't save well, and I don't want to toss out expensive organic eggs. So if you don't want to wind up having to choose between tossing the extra and waiting through a second round of cooking, use only ONE egg and combine with nice fillings like chopped green onion, chopped pimento, crumbled feta, whatever. That way, you use up your "batter" in one cycle. Second piece of advice is to use oven mitts that have fingers: My first time, when I used our big, unwieldy "mitten" hot mitts, I did not have enough "dexterity" to easily lift the little trays out of the hot cooker. Next time, I used gloves with fingers (fabric yard gloves will work), and did just fine! Sorry for the long review, but this little cooker is a real treasure, very versatile, and worth the reasonable price. Just learn from my experience about the water, the amount of egg, and the type of gloves you want to use to lift them out. Enjoy! This product was very badly packed and had obviously been thrown around in transit, rattling around inside a much bigger box. This had ended up with the machine having 3 major splits to the lid. It would be unsafe to use.I was spending way too much money on Starbucks Egg Bites so my bf got me this and it is amazing. Only tried it once so far but it is so easy to make and has the exact same texture as the Starbucks egg bites. You can play around with what flavour you want and it also looks very cute, highly recommend. It’s too small: I wish it could fit 1 egg per cup, instead, it only fits half. That way, if you make 4 portions you only get 2 eggs.Another issue: it’s good for single people. If you are going to eat with somebody else it takes almost 10 minutes to get ready, so when the second portion is ready, the first is already cold. And it doesn’t taste like Starbucks egg bites: if you leave the recommended time it gets drier and not smooth like the ones at Starbucks.I bought it on sale and I don’t recommend it in full price. Specially if you are not single.Very useful.Instead of boiled scrambled or omelette, this is a great option to have.I am making egg patties for sandwiches.I am using my own judgment on how much I want the eggs to be cooked and not relying on the device itself. This little machine is well worth the money [ although it was quite affordable }. I made one bite omelettes, petite pancakes, for the omelettes to sit on, tiny brownies even lovely little tarlettes. It was convenient, quick ank kept the mess to a minimal. Big hit, looks professionally made, all same size, raze of the party
