I love them! It is good for portion control and I can put dressing or yogurt in and it doesn’t mix! Be sure to hand wash the box and ice pack. Only put the portion box in the dishwasher. This prolongs the life of the rubber seals of the box. This fits 1 small sandwich, cut up, very small chip portion (1 small baggie worth), 2 small boxes of raisins and a few tbsp of yogurt. Ice pack keeps it cool a couple of hours if not in an insulated bag, cool through 4 hours if insulated. If your kiddo has a big appetite, may not work. I have 3 (2 for child so I can wash and air dry one and use the other) and 1 for myself. This was a great buy a little pricey, but because of the durability you will definitely get your money worth out of it. It is well made, easy to clean and nice portion size sections. If you have a child that does like there food to touch, you and you child will enjoy this. Also very easy to open and close. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a awesome lunch container for their child.I love the fact that this one comes with a freezer pack and it has an easy and sturdy one tab to open/close. It has fallen on tile and it is very strong and stays shut when falling and food stays separated. I purchased the back pack especially for holding this by the same brand and I realize that was an unnecessary purchase but I won't be buying another bag for a long time as it's also made to last.Cons:Curry and Nigerian red sauce stains the outside rubber.I wish all the pieces were dishwasher safe.Pros:at first it seemed pricey but it is quite sturdy and I don't forsee having to replace for a while.the freezer pack is separate but integrates out of site.the freezer pack isn't required to be used to close it.Very high quality. I still use extra ice packs and don't rely completely on the built-in ice pack for cooling. It doesn't feel like it would be enough to keep it cool on its own. But the built in ice packs along with the extra ones (which I would be using anyway in a normal lunch box) keep it cool. The compartments are a great size and it is well-constructed. My only complaint is that I wish the outer part of the box were dishwasher safe. Only the bento insert can go in the dishwasher.Throwing this review out into the void... basically it's a pretty "nice" lunchbox. The Good: Lid has silicon padding which does a pretty good job sealing and mating with the interior "bento grid". We've put ketchup in quite a few times and not had any obvious spillage / leaking. I wouldn't buy this to put soup in one of the compartments, but generic ranch, ketchup, etc. should be pretty fine. Also, you can use the box with or without the freezer pack pretty successfully. Sometimes you want to keep everything cold, and sometimes you just have crackers / toast / carrot sticks and don't want it iced down. The Bad: The lid latch feels very tenuous!! It's just not grippy/claspy enough to trust a toddler running around with it. The only way I'd feel properly secure with this particular box is with a velcro strap running around everything, which is not a great outcome for a relatively expensive box. The latch hasn't failed on us yet in ~2 months of use, but before you go all into this brand, buy one and see if you're comfortable with the seal and durability of it.The Okay: cleaning is pretty straight-forward. We'll usually hand-wash overnight, and maybe dishwasher the interior bento-buckets once a week or so. "Obviously" you shouldn't wash the lid/case in the dishwasher (it could damage the seals / silicon padding?), and you can't dishwasher the freezer-pac (it's got whatever heat/cold freeze-gel that shouldn't be warmed above ambient temperature). The other missed opportunity is hot v. cold or separable buckets. If you have spaghetti in one compartment and apples in the other, you're kindof out of luck. You can't separate the trays to heat just the spaghetti, and you're stuck basically eating the cold stuff first before you could put the remainder into the microwave. Our next look is for one of those stackable thermos food containers to (for example) send hot spaghetti and cold apple slices rather than having to choose between using the cold-pack or omitting the cold-pack and hoping the food doesn't spoil, but also isn't ice cold. We’ve been using this for our kiddos lunch for the last month. We love the removable ice pack and how it holds everything except the drink. It did leak once when we had something with fruit juice in one of the compartments but I’m not sure I closed it well enough in my hurry. It is easy to clean and easy to use.My 4 year-old started school last week and I was nervous about what I could pack her for lunch that she’d actually eat (she’s a bit of a picky eater). I found this Bentgo Box Kids Chill lunchbox and have been packing small portions of healthy finger foods for my daughter and she has been loving her lunch each day! Perhaps it’s because the colorful foods in the box look so pretty, or maybe it’s the “cute” portions, whatever it is, it makes her look forward to eating her lunch and she eats almost all of it! I have no doubt that if I packed the exact same foods in snack baggies she would not eat them. This Bentgo box is perfect. It’s very well made, good to look at, and easy for my 4 year-old to open and close. The tray that works to keep the food cold is okay but I still use a thin ice pack to put in the lunch bag with this Bentgo box. I highly recommend this box.My kids (ages 8 - 15) love these. They come in colors that our older kids don't mind having and we let our younger kids use waterproof stickers to decorate theirs. They fit well inside of the refrigerator too. Sandwiches do fit in, if you cut the sandwich in half and put them standing upright. The large compartment also fits two Hawaiian rolls perfectly. Our kids love ham & cheese sandwiches on the Hawaiian rolls. The only issue I really have is when they bring yogurt in one compartment. It tends to leak into other compartments making their chips and sandwich soggy. We folded up a paper towel and put it on top of the yogurt and that seems to have helped a lot, just annoying having to do that. Other than that, we love them!Bentgo lunch boxes have great size compartments for little ones lunches. I love the fact that there is an ice pack built in to keep things cool as needed. It is a great size easy to fit in a lunch bag or a back pack. It is so versatile for the simple fact that it can be cooled, the tray can be removed to heat and then the tray can be safely put in the dish washer. Convenient for busy families which is usually the case when you have little ones. I would recommend the Bentgo brand to everyone, always quality products and they have excellent customer service should a problem arise. Five Stars from me.Not sure if I’m not doing it right but prying the insert (especially if the ice pack is in) out at the end of the day is 50-50 a challenge, hate that. The insert has a minor shift to it so when my very capable 4.5yo shuts it at end of day it’s a bit of struggle so she doesn’t always get it right (only time it’s leaked, usually it’s great in that respect).Otherwise I love the compartment sizes, so easy to fit everything, and chill pack gives an added reassurance (though admittedly don’t know actual chill time) which I like. I’ve run the insert through dishwasher and it washes clear which is nice. Wish they had more stock so I can get a second one to rotateCouldn’t be more pleased with this product. Thought this would be convenient for picnics and outings but my kids loved it so much they literally use it everyday at home for their lunch. They often ask to eat Dinner in it too. Love it for my toddler as wel as I cut up all her food and what ever she doesn’t finish we store it in the fridge for later. I had a little hiccup with one of the boxes but bentgo’s customer service alone is a reason to feel so so confident in your purchase. HIGHLY recommendPerfect for my kinder kid's lunches! I love that I can put puddings or liquidy foods and they do not spill in to the other sections. The icepack is a nice touch as well to keep good chilled. The only down side is the entire thing not being dishwasher safe. The inner food part can go in but the outer shell is handwash. Still ok thoughGood quality and has warranty! I would not pack things like the oranges in syrup, I had put some out of a larger container into my daughters lunch and it leaked onto everything else, it is more suitable for thicker substances like ranch dressing or yogurt, but “thinner” more “watery” substances aren’t ideal for this lunch box.
